Friends, it's been quite awhile since I have visited with you! Let me begin by saying that I've missed you all and I am working on catching up on all of your lovely posts in my Google Reader. Thank you so much for all of your kind words on my last post regarding my stash busting, and for your fabulous and supportive emails that you've been sending to me privately. They've helped me get through these stressful weeks since we last chatted.
Well! Since my last post, my moving date changed from March 1 to February 1, then back to March 1 definitely but sooner if the opportunity arises. I was hunting for apartments when a friend of a friend said I could come check out her soon to be available home.
OMG. I walked in and I was sick to my stomach at the thought of this place passing me by. I knew, in my heart of hearts, that it was meant to be mine. Since then, I've signed a lease for my new place, which is definitely mine on March 1, but if she moves out sooner, I can move in right then.
*insert joyous happy dance here*
The past few weeks have not been easy, though. I was worried over getting the apartment, and also panicked about packing if I was indeed moving February 1.
I've also had some weird financial things pop up (read your credit reports thoroughly, everyone!) and had to focus a great deal of energy in getting those matters resolved.
I should probably also mention at this point that I am moving into this new apartment by myself.
While Rob and I are staying together, we both agreed it would be better (and I would be happier) if I had my own space to be creative and colorful to my heart's content.
These past two weeks have been filled with tears and laughing, serious anxiety and overwhelming excitement ... and lots of packing!
As you can see, my piles are transforming slowly ... into slightly more organized piles of boxes.
XOXO to all of you,
Meg
good luck, happy thoughts and viva la stash-bust

ReplyDeleteSounds like things have been hectic for you but I hope the move goes smoothly! and you'll be settled in before ya know it!
ReplyDeleteEeek lady, you had me seriously worried through that post with all the singular words being used! :-/
ReplyDeleteSo glad that you found the perfect apartment - I hope you'll be showing it off via photos once you're settled in and we can all be jealous of your sewing space!
Best of luck with the move! *hug*
Your very own stunning little Creative Cave - lucky you!!!
ReplyDeleteHey you, lovely to see you pop up! Goodness me, you have a lot on your plate. Best of luck getting sorted and settled. Big hugs x
ReplyDeleteGood luck w/ the move! Every couple has different needs; I hope this solution works out for everybody :) Yikesey about the credit report; blech to unneeded stress!
ReplyDeleteGood luck with everything, Meg - hope it all works out for you.:-)
ReplyDeleteHow stressful! Sending good wishes xx
ReplyDeleteYou have moving down-pack non-essentials. Leave out essentials....P&P dvd, hack saw, etc....
ReplyDeleteGood luck with the move, looks like you're making good progress
ReplyDeleteK x
Moving is my least favorite thing to do ever. Good luck. I hope everything goes smoothly and that you love your new home.
ReplyDeletePhew! What a stressful couple of weeks. We're all right behind you though! Best wishes!
ReplyDeleteMoving is the WORST. Hang in there. It won't be long before you're loving your new space.
ReplyDeleteGood luck with the move ~ before you know it, you'll feel at home again.
ReplyDeleteGood luck with the move, it's excellent news that you've found somewhere you like! All the rest will fall into place slowly! And I'm sure that your relationship with Rob will be just fine, a bit of space is never a bad thing if it will make you both happier ;o)
ReplyDeleteNice to have you back. I totally understand the sewing/crafting supplies hoarding problem. I have way too much stuff, too. Nothing is better in that case than a move. Packing it all up is the easiest way to have a good clear out. I hope you get through this in the smoothest way possible. Good luck with it all. Xx
ReplyDeleteah man, not the good kind of busy, huh? Well I hope things only get better from here forward--good luck with your move. And may I just say, the 3 years I lived alone were very glorious times indeed (I love my personal space). I hope you get settled sooner than later and enjoy your new place!!
ReplyDeleteSo wish I was there to help you pack and unpack over a couple bottles of wine! xoxoxo
ReplyDeleteMeg! I was worried there for a bit halfway through this post, but it seems like you are handling things the best you can. I think things are always better with the Pride & Prejudice DVD out and at the ready. ;) I look forward to your sewing return! In the meantime, good luck with the move and with everything else. :) Things will be great!
ReplyDeleteOh no, I worried with the "I" sentences! But sounds like you two are hopefully working something out that will be good for you both (separately and together). And just think, Frida and Diego has their own houses. :) Good luck with all the piles and moving and everything and if there's anything I can do please holler!! xo
ReplyDeleteOh, GOSH! I'm thinking of you! What a hectic month you've got ahead of you! Here's hoping that everything goes smoothly with the timing of the moves. Wish I could be there to lend you a hand! :/
ReplyDeleteMoving can be both stressful and exciting. I hope it is more exciting than anything else. And that it will be a time of great creativity (which I'm sure it will be). Cheers to new beginnings, stash busting and all good things in your future.
ReplyDeleteOoh, my stomach was dropping when I was reading this post. I am happy it is a mostly positive move with you enjoying your own creative space. Sending you hugs and sparkles! x
ReplyDeleteoh hunny, one of my fave parts of this post was seeing a Medtronic box, my uncle worked for them for years! i have my fingers crossed that you get the apartment your heart wants and i have every faith that the rest will all work out for the best in the end. good luck stash busting and let me know if you come visit in Va (before Aug, when i'm likely to move elsewhere) and we can do a meet up!! hugs, glitter and best wishes evAH to you!
ReplyDeleteI do hope you and Rob make it past this little detour in the road. I'm glad you found a great apartment and that life is okay until you get settled again. g
ReplyDeleteBest of luck with the packing, moving, and associated challenges. I'm so pleased that you've found the perfect place!
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry to hear you've had such a hard time lately. I know what you mean about needing a place of your own. We are buying a house and the first thing my husband said was that I will have my own room and none of my stuff is allowed to leave said room, so I know the tension that stuff can cause and it's no fun. I'm glad you found a place you like though!
ReplyDeleteSending you lots of good moving vibes and hopes that things turn for the better!
ReplyDeleteOof, that's a LOT of stuff happening at once! I am sure Meg the Grand will battle through and it will be awesome in the end! I want to see your new apartment!
ReplyDeleteI felt a little heart drop when I read that singular too, but then I thought that I should add that I've been with my man for 20 years now (20 YEARS! HOW THE HELL DID THAT HAPPEN?) with time apart at various intervals due to work or my need for solo adventure. If you're both honest about your needs, it will work out. xo Vicki
ReplyDeleteBest wishes with the move!
ReplyDeleteGood luck with the move, hope you get settles soon. Moving is never fun, but you seem to be getting things sorted better than I could so well done you!
ReplyDeleteJust found your blog and loving it. Maybe we can follow each other on GFC or bloglovin? Please feel free to stop by my blog and let me know. XO

Moving house is definitely not easy, but you'll get there. Great opportunity for you to sort out a new creative space though!

ReplyDeleteIt’s normal to feel anxious over getting the apartment, but if everything goes through the right process, you wouldn’t find it difficult to handle your transactions. At times like this, you just have to read, understand and review all the documents before you sign them. Likewise, you need to make sure that you properly arrange the payments. With that, the process will go smoothly. :)

The flat that I live in right now was recommended to me by a friend as well. And I also fell in love with it the first time I saw it. Well, yours looks wonderful. I love the view that you have up there. There are tall buildings in front of you, so your apartment must've been located at a busy street. It's very accessible, but the traffic could be your worst enemy. I hope not. Hehe!
